Annie Chen Ziyao is a multumedia artist based in New York. She is also the co-founder of :iidrr Gallery located in the LES of Manhatton. Chen received her B.A. in Art & Art History and Business from St.Lawrence University in 2018 and an MFA in Photo, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in 2021. Her work has been featured in exhibitions nationally and internationally, which includes New York, Miami, Chicago, Rome, London, Beijing, and Slovenia.
Chen's works always focus on the relationship between humans and the social environment in this era of unpredictable technological complexity and advancement. The internet is the foundation of Chen's work, which she employs to offer satirical perspectives on social, cultural, and political issues. Her work challenges and redefines the relationship among humans, technology, and nature, advocating for a techno-human lifestyle. The range of mediums she uses to express her concept includes photography, video, performance, and interactive technology. By using various mediums, she desires to create an artificial playground with humor and charm to replace the existing regulation.
